C.J. Cron put on Tigers' injured list with knee injury
The Detroit Tigers placed first baseman C.J. Cron on the 10-day injured list with a left knee sprain.
Cron departed Monday night's game against the Chicago White Sox after getting hit in the leg by a ball while playing first base. It's unclear how long Cron will be sidelined. Jeimer Candelario will start at first base for the Tigers on Tuesday. Willi Castro was recalled in a corresponding roster move.
Cron is batting just 8-for-42 (.190) but he owns a .894 OPS with 4 dingers, 3 doubles, 8 RBI, and 9 scores. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Tigers are +104 underdogs on Tuesday versus the White Sox.
