Marcus Stroman (COVID-19 concerns) opts out of pitching for Mets this season
New York Mets starting pitcher Marcus Stroman has opted out of the remainder of the 2020 season due to concerns over the coronavirus.
Stroman said the left calf injury that put him on the injury list before the season is 100 percent healed. However, he's opting out due to concerns within his family over COVID-19. Stroman is scheduled to become a free agent this offseason. Robert Gsellman and Seth Lugo were mentioned as possible replacements in the rotation.
