Rays put Charlie Morton (shoulder) on 10-day IL
The Tampa Bay Rays placed starting pitcher Charlie Morton on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation.
Morton was removed from Sunday's start against the New York Yankees but said afterward that he is "not worried about missing much time." He will miss at least one turn in the rotation while on the shelf. The Rays activated left-hander Jose Alvarado from the paternity list in a corresponding roster move.
Morton is averaging 19.3 FanDuel points per start this season. His 5.40 ERA is the right-hander's worst mark since 2010.
