Chicago White Sox infielder Danny Mendick is starting on second base and batting ninth Wednesday against right-hander Adrian Houser and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Mendick is replacing Nick Madrigal, who was placed on the 10-day injured list with a separated left shoulder. He's 1-for-13 this season. Mendick and Leury Garcia will split second base duties while Madrigal is out.
