Chicago Cubs catcher Victor Caratini is starting on Wednesday against left-hander Kris Bubic and the Kansas City Royals.
Caratini will catch Yu Darvish and hit ninth. Willson Contreras is lined up for designated hitter and cleanup work. Kyle Schwarber will replace Steven Souza in left field and bat fifth.
