Angels' Shohei Ohtani diagnosed with flexor pronator strain
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani has been diagnosed with a grade 1-2 flexor pronator strain.
The team's official posting noted that there will be a 4-6 week timetable before he can begin working through his pitching progressions, but that he will be traveling with the team as a designated hitter and will be listed as day-to-day at that position in the meantime.
We may not see Ohtani pitch again in 2020, but we can remain optimistic that he'll be batting again before too long. While this injury will affect his projections for counting stats, he is projected for a stellar 0.312 batting average over the remainder of the season.
