St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Daniel Ponce de Leon will start in Wednesday's matchup against the Minnesota Twins.
Ponce de Leon will make the mound for the Cardinals after Miles Mikolas was diagnosed with a season-ending flexor tendon injury. In 13 appearances last season including eight starts, the Cardinal's right-hander produced a 3.70 Earned Run average and 52 strikeouts in 48.2 total innings.
For this regular season, Ponce de Leon's yearly projection includes a 4.86 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 25 total innings.
