Rangers place Corey Kluber (shoulder) on 45-day IL

The Texas Rangers placed right-handed pitcher Corey Kluber on the 45-day injured list.

What It Means:

Kluber suffered a Grade 2 strain of the teres major muscle in his shoulder during his Rangers debut on Sunday against the Rockies. He's going to be shut down for the next four weeks and may be able to return as a reliever at some point this season. The Rangers activated left-hander Brett Martin in a corresponding roster move. Kolby Allard is expected to replace Kluber in the Rangers' rotation.

Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Rangers have the ninth-worst odds (+7000) to win the 2020 World Series.
