Clayton Kershaw (back) put on Dodgers IL, Dustin May starting Opening Night
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw has been placed on the injured list due to back stiffness.
Dustin May has been recalled from the Dodgers alternate site to start in Thursday night's series opener against right-hander Johnny Cueto and the San Francisco Giants. Kershaw dealt with a shoulder issue in the spring but this is first word of a back problem. It's unclear how long the 32-year-old left-hander will be sidelined.
Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Dodgers have the best odds (+380) to win the 2020 World Series.
