Dustin May OUT

Dodgers option Dustin May to alternate site

The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned right-hander Dustin May to their alternate training site.

What It Means:

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts previously mentioned May as a piggyback option with Walker Buehler, who is slated to make his first start on Tuesday against the Houston Astros. It's possible the Dodgers intend to bring back May for that matchup and that they're simply freeing up a roster space in the meantime. The 22-year-old right-hander can contribute for the Dodgers both in the rotation and out of the bullpen. In 14 games (four starts) last season, May recorded a 3.63 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 32 strikeouts and 5 walks over 34 2/3 innings in his first taste of the majors.

May averaged 25.8 FanDuel points per start last season. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Dodgers have the best odds (+380) in baseball to win the 2020 World Series.
