Astros' Josh James scratched due to weather
Houston Astros pitcher Josh James was scratched from his scheduled exhibition start against the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday due to concerns over the weather.
The Astros didn't want to risk James' start being cut short. He's scheduled to throw a simulated game on Wednesday and should still open the year Houston's rotation. The 27-year-old right-hander recorded a 4.70 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with 100 strikeouts and 35 walks over 61 1/3 innings (49 games) last year out of the bullpen in his first full year in the majors.
numberFire's models expect James to record a 3.79 ERA and 1.26 WHIP with 56 strikeouts and 18 walks over 38 innings this season.
