Orioles' Steve Wilkerson suffers broken finger
Steve Wilkerson of the Baltimore Orioles has fractured his left ring finger and will miss significant time.
The 28-year-old suffered the injury on a diving play in the outfield. Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told the media that Wilkerson was expected to miss 'significant time,' which puts his availability for the 60-game season in jeopardy.
Wilkerson wasn't expected to make a significant impact in 2020, but the shortened season and ongoing pandemic mean each team will want as many healthy players as possible at their disposal. Hopefully he can make a speedy recovery.
