Chris Paddack confirmed for Padres' opener
San Diego Padres pitcher Chris Paddack will start Opening Day against the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 24.
Paddack will be followed up by Dinelson Lamet and Garrett Richards in the Padres' opening rotation. The 24-year-old right-hander recorded a sharp 3.33 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 153 strikeouts and 31 walks last season over his first 140 2/3 major league innings.
