Cubs' Jose Quintana (thumb) continuing to progress in rehab
Chicago Cubs pitcher Jose Quintana (thumb) has progressed to throwing from 90 feet out.
Quintana suffered a laceration to his thumb that required stitches earlier this offseason, but appears to be progressing relatively smoothly through the recovery process. He won't be ready for Opening Day, but should become available for the Cubs sooner rather than later.
numberFire projects Quintana to pitch for a 4.58 ERA this season, with 41 strikeouts and 1.33 WHIP over 45.2 innings.
