Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito has been named the team's choice for Opening Day starter.
This comes as no surprise whatsoever, as Giolito established himself as one of the best pitchers in the entire American League last season. If he can have a similar jump this year, a Cy Young Award could be in the works.
Our models currently project Giolito for a 4.19 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP, 78 strikeouts and 23 walks across 68.7 innings pitched.
