Reds designate Scott Schebler for assignment

Cincinnati Reds outfielder Scott Schebler has been designated for assignment Sunday.

What It Means:

Schebler was a pretty good hitter from 2016-2018 with the Reds, compiling a .780 OPS and 102 wRC+ across 1,243 plate appearances. However, injuries and poor play limited his 2019 to just 30 games and 95 plate appearances, and it seems as though that's how he'll end his career in Cincinnati. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, Schebler could elect free agency.

Last season, Schebler hit for a .123/.253/.222 slash line with 2 home runs and 7 RBI.
