Yankees' Masahiro Tanaka (concussion) throws bullpen session Sunday

New York Yankees starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka threw a successful bullpen session on Sunday.

What It Means:

Tanaka was hit in the head by a line drive off the bat of Giancarlo Stanton on July 4, which gave the Japanese pitcher a mild concussion. Manager Aaron Boone said that he could perhaps face live batters on Tuesday, and it seems as though he'll at least begin the season on the injured list.

Our models currently project Tanaka for a 4.38 ERA with a 1.21 WHIP, 59 strikeouts and 15 walks across 63.7 innings pitched.
