Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zach Eflin (back) threw a bullpen session on Wednesday.
Eflin had been dealing with back spasms. He's scheduled to throw a simulated game on Saturday and should then be good to go for his first turn in the Phillies' rotation, barring any setbacks. The 26-year-old right-hander recorded a career-high 4.13 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with 129 strikeouts and 48 walks over 163 1/3 innings last season.
numberFire's models expect Eflin to record a 4.68 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with 45 strikeouts and 16 walks over 54 innings this season.
