Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Chase Anderson has been diagnosed with an oblique strain.
Anderson suffered the injury a few days ago. Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoya says the 32-year-old right-hander is day-to-day, but this raises doubt about Anderson's availability for Opening Day. He recorded a 4.21 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 124 strikeouts and 50 walks across 139 innings (27 starts, five relief appearances) last season.
numberFire's models expect Anderson to record a 4.92 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with 49 strikeouts and 18 walks over 55 innings this season.
