Rays' Brendan McKay has not returned to camp
Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Brendan McKay has not been in camp with the team in several days.
McKay participated in workouts when camp opened, but has been away for undisclosed reasons recently. It is unclear what his status is or what his availability will be heading into the season, but the Rays will have to have plans in place if both he and Yonny Chirinos are unavailable.
McKay struggled to a 2 and 4 record in his 2019 rookie season with a 5.14 ERA, but was expected to compete for a role as a sixth man in the Rays' pitching rotation in a season where depth will be key.
