Pirates' Socrates Brito (COVID-19) rejoins team

Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Socrates Brito has rejoined the team after previously testing positive for COVID-19.

What It Means:

Obviously, this means that he was able to test negatively for the virus, or he would still be isolating. Brito is with the team on a minor league contract and is not expected to make much of an impact, but he does offer some experience in the majors with 218 at bats over the past 5 seasons.

Brito is working to earn a roster invite when the season begins, but he unfortunately has not impressed when called upon. Since 2015, he has struggled to a .179 batting average, with 19 more strikeouts (56) than hits (37).
