Robinson Cano (undisclosed) missing from Mets

New York Mets second baseman Robinson Cano (undisclosed) was absent from Wednesday and Thursday's summer camp workouts.

What It Means:

Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen declined to provide a reason why. "There's a variety of reasons why players are here or not here on a given day, and we're going to protect those players' rights," Van Wagenen said. Cano had a career-low .256 batting average last season and only played 107 games due to a variety of lower-body injuries. The 37-year-old veteran was limited to 80 games the year before that.

numberFire's models expect Cano to record a .268 batting average and .751 OPS with 6 homers, 22 RBI, and 21 runs scored over 180 plate appearances this season.
