Orioles' Jose Iglesias (back) doing better

Baltimore Orioles shortstop Jose Iglesias (back) could play in the club's intrasquad game Thursday night, according to Orioles manager Brandon Hyde.

What It Means:

The Orioles will make a decision following Thursday's workout. Iglesias was held out of Wednesday's intrasquad game due to a sore back. Iglesias signed a one-year, $3 million contract in early January and is expected to serve as Baltimore's everyday shortstop in 2020. The 30-year-old hit .288 last season with a career-high 11 homers for the Cincinnati Reds. Iglesias has never hit more than 6 dingers in any other year.

numberFire's models expect Iglesias to post a .270 batting average with 4 homers, 20 RBI, 21 runs scored, and 3 steals over 197 plate appearances this season.
