New York Yankees starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka (head) was able to exercise again on Wednesday, per Yankees manager Aaron Boone.
Boone said they are taking things slowly and that Tanaka is doing well after being diagnosed with a mild concussion from Sunday's intrasquad game. It sounds like the right-hander has a solid chance of being ready for Opening Day. Tanaka tossed a 4.45 ERA and 1.24 WHIP with 149 strikeouts and 40 walks over 182 innings last season.
numberFire's models project the 31-year-old to pitch a 4.38 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 2020, with 59 strikeouts, 15 walks, and 12 home runs allowed.
