Anthony Rizzo (back) being handled by Cubs with caution

Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo (back) was held out of action again Wednesday.

What It Means:

Cubs manager David Ross says they are using "caution." The 30-year-old veteran occasionally requires maintenance for his back, but Rizzo should be fine for Opening Day. He slashed .293/.405/.520 with 27 home runs, 94 RBI, 89 runs scored, and 5 steals over 613 plate appearances last year. His batting average and on-base percentage both set career-highs.

numberFire's models project Rizzo to have a .282 batting average and .854 OPS with 10 homers, 35 RBI, 36 runs scored, and 2 steals in 231 plate appearances this season.
