Texas Rangers first baseman Ronald Guzman has joined the club's summer camp workouts.
It's unknown why Guzman hadn't been cleared to play yet. His batting average slipped from .235 as a rookie to .219 last season, but Guzman's ISO rose from .181 to .195. The 25-year-old is competing with Greg Bird to be the Rangers' primary first baseman.
numberFire's models expect Guzman to bat .240 and post a .734 OPS with 6 homers, 18 RBI, and 16 runs scored in 144 plate appearances this season.
