Indians' Delino DeShields Jr. (COVID-19) passes first test
Cleveland Indians outfielder Delino DeShields Jr. has tested negative for COVID-19.
DeShields had a positive test last week. He will need to have another negative test before getting cleared to join the Indians in Cleveland. DeShields is expected to be a rotational outfield piece and pinch-runner for the Indians this season. He batted just .249 with a .672 OPS across 408 plate appearances, but DeShields did tally at least 20 steals for the third straight season.
numberFire's models expect DeShields to record a .226 batting average and .658 OPS with 2 homers, 8 RBI, 13 runs scored, and 5 steals over 107 plate appearances this season.
