Phillies confirm Tommy Hunter tested positive
Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Tommy Hunter tested positive for COVID-19, Phillies general manager Matt Klentak confirmed.
It was previously unclear whether Hunter had tested positive himself or only interacted with someone who had it. He will need to have two negative tests before practicing. The 34-year-old reliever logged only five appearances for the Phillies last season before undergoing surgery in July to repair the flexor tendon in his right arm.
numberFire's models expect Hunter to record a 4.09 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with 14 strikeouts and 4 walks over 13 1/3 innings this season.
