Athletics' Jesus Luzardo reportedly has COVID-19
Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo has tested positive for COVID-19, reports Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.
This explains why Luzardo hasn't been apart of the Athletics' workouts so far. “I’m feeling good, just ready to get going once I get 2 negatives; praying for it to be soon," Luzardo said. The 22-year-old left-hander is expected to be apart of the Athletics' rotation this season. He recorded 16 strikeouts over 12 innings (six appearances) to close out the end of 2019 in his first taste of the majors.
numberFire's models project Luzardo for a 4.05 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with 47 strikeouts and 16 walks over 46 2/3 innings this season.
