Rangers' Joey Gallo receives positive test result
Texas Rangers outfielder Joey Gallo has tested positive for COVID-19.
Gallo is asymptomatic. He will need to have two negative test results, 24 hours apart, before joining the Rangers. There should be enough time for Gallo to be ready by Opening Day. He set career-highs in batting average (.253) and OPS (.987) last season but was limited to 297 plate appearances by injuries. The 26-year-old slugger hit at least 40 home runs in 2017 and 2018.
numberFire's models expect Gallo to bat .230 with 17 homers, 34 RBI, and 33 runs scored in 220 plate appearances this season.
