Athletics reportedly dealing with test delays
The Oakland Athletics are facing a delay in their COVID-19 test results, reports Alex Coffey of The Athletic.
The Athletics, who still haven't even held their first full-squad workout, underwent testing on Friday. The tests were due to arrive at Major League Baseball's lab in Salt Lake City, Utah at 1:30 a.m. on Monday morning, but as of late Sunday night, they were still in San Francisco. Per MLB’s guidelines, players are supposed to be tested every other day and receive their results within 24-48 hours. Athletics general manager David Forst was described as “livid” about the delayed results.
Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Athletics are tied for having the 10th-best odds (+2500) to win the 2020 World Series.
