Joe Smith not yet at Astros' camp

Houston Astros relief pitcher Joe Smith has not yet reported to the team's "Spring Training" camp in Houston, according to manager Dusty Baker.

What It Means:

Smith has yet to arrive "due to concerns about the health and safety of his family," which has been a common theme across MLB in the last few days." There haven't been any reports outside of this, so it's currently unclear whether Smith plans to arrive at any point this season. The veteran bullpen arm signed a two-year, $8 million contract in December.

Our models currently project Smith for a 4.09 ERA with a 1.02 WHIP, 17 strikeouts and 4 walks across 17.6 innings pitched.
