The New York Yankees placed starting pitcher Luis Severino (right elbow injury) on the 60-day injured list.
Severino is recovering from February Tommy John surgery, so he won't be back on a mound until 2021. He was also limited to just three starts last season due to a shoulder injury. It was obviously a tiny sample size, but the right-hander did rack up 17 strikeouts against 48 batters (35.4 percent). Severino owns a career 3.46 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with a 27.0 strikeout percentage.
Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Yankees have the second-best odds (+400) to win the 2020 World Series.
