Kansas City inks Travis Snider to minor league deal

The Kansas City Royals signed outfielder Travis Snider to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

What It Means:

The former top prospect began the 2015 season in a starting role with the Baltimore Orioles, but he hit just .237/.318/.341 in 236 plate appearances before he was eventually released. He caught on with the Pittsburgh Pirates later in the season but the results weren't any better. It's a nice low-risk signing for the Royals, but the fantasy potential here is minimal.

Snider's season in full was no better than his halfway mark. He hit .232/.313/.350 with just four homers and 39 RBI's. He's not a fantasy option in the near future.
