Danny Santana to open as Rangers' primary center fielder in 2020
Texas Rangers infielder/outfielder Danny Santana will serve as the team's main option in center to begin the 2020 season, manager Chris Woodward announced Wednesday.
Santana has been known for his versatility as a major leaguer, appearing at seven different positions last season. But despite the impressive spring performance from youngster Nick Solak, it seems that the 29-year-old Santana will have a set role in the field, at least for the start of the year.
Our models project Santana for a .250 batting average and a .743 OPS with 22 home runs, 70 RBI, 74 runs and 18 stolen bases in 540 plate appearances.
