Washington Nationals catcher Yan Gomes is not starting in Friday's playoff game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Gomes will head to the bench with Kurt Suzuki starting behind the plate.
In 314 at-bats this season, Gomes produced 70 total hits including 12 home runs and 43 RBI.
