Yandy Diaz at DH, cleaning up for Rays in ALDS Game 1
Tampa Bay Rays infielder Yandy Diaz is at designated hitter out of the cleanup spot Friday afternoon in Game 1 of the American League Division Series versus right-hander Justin Verlander and the Houston Astros.
Diaz went 3-for-4 with a pair of homers in Wednesday's Wild Card win over the Athletics while playing first base out of the leadoff spot. It was just his second game since suffering a foot fracture in July. Ji-Man Choi is on first base Friday and Austin Meadows is at the top of the order. Travis d'Arnaud is hitting sixth.
numberFire's models expect Diaz to score 10.3 FanDuel points on Friday. He's priced at $3,500. The Rays are heavy underdogs on the road against Verlander and their implied total of 3.03 runs is the lowest on Friday's four-game slate.
