Cincinnati Reds infielder Joey Votto is not in the lineup on Friday in the team's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Votto is being replaced at first base by Alex Blandino against Pirates starter Steven Brault.
In 600 plate appearances this season, Votto has a .264 batting average and a .777 OPS.
