David Price (wrist) expected to be done for Red Sox in 2019
Boston Red Sox starting pitcher David Price (wrist) is doubtful to return this season.
Price has pitched just once since August 4 due to a cyst in the same wrist that he dealt with carpal tunnel syndrome last year. "It feels like most likely we’re going to shut him down,” manager Alex Cora admitted. The 34-year-old veteran left-hander owns a 7-5 record in 22 starts for the Red Sox this season.
Price has had a disappointing 2019, posting a 4.28 ERA and 1.31 WHIP -- both personal-lows since his first full season in the bigs -- with 128 strikeouts and 32 walks in 107 1/3 innings this season.
