Pirates' Joe Musgrove (foot) scratched from Friday start, Alex McRae filling in
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Joe Musgrove has been scratched from his Friday start against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Musgrove is dealing with right foot discomfort, and that will cost him a start against the division-leading Cardinals. Now, 26-year-old Alex McRae will take the bump - he was recalled from Triple-A on Thursday afternoon.
In 154.3 innings pitched across 26 games, Musgrove has a 9-12 record with a 4.67 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 136 strikeouts and 35 walks.
