Rays' Kean Wong making MLB debut Thursday
Tampa Bay Rays infielder/outfielder Kean Wong is making his major league debut in Thursday night's series opener against right-hander Trent Thornton and the Toronto Blue Jays.
Wong is replacing Eric Sogard on second base and batting eighth after being called up from Triple-A Durham on Thursday. The 24-year-old is the younger brother of St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong and can provide both infield and outfield depth for the Rays down the stretch.
Wong hit .307/.375/.464 with 10 home runs, 63 RBI, 6 stolen bases, and 71 runs scored in 113 games this season at Triple-A Durham.
