Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Luke Weaver (elbow) will throw a simulated game on Monday.
The Diamondbacks' medical team will determine how many pitchers Weaver will throw. "I want to see him let loose," manager Torey Luvullo said. It's not clear if the 26-year-old right-hander will pitch again for the Diamondbacks this season. He has been sidelined since late May with a flexor strain.
Weaver is 4-3 in 11 starts this season. He owns a 3.03 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with 68 strikeouts and 14 walks over 62 1/3 innings.
