Joey Votto (back) could return Sunday for Reds
Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto (back) could return from the injured list this Sunday when first eligible.
Votto is currently sidelined with a lower back strain. Turning 36 in less than a month, the veteran is currently on pace to post a career-low .762 OPS this season. Josh VanMeter has been covering first base in Votto's absence.
Votto is hitting .262/.352/.410 with 12 homers, 25 doubles, 39 RBI, 4 steals, and 60 scores in 486 plate appearances (113 games) this season.
