Manny Machado taking a seat for Padres Wednesday afternoon
San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado is not starting in Wednesday afternoon's series finale versus right-hander Luis Castillo and the Cincinnati Reds.
It looks like a rare off day for Machado. The Padres are off on Thursday, so he'll have two days to rest. The 27-year-old seems to be getting back on track after a rough stretch this month, going 8-for-21 (.381) over the last six games. Ty France is on third base Wednesday for the Padres and Eric Hosmer is in the three-hole.
numberFire's models expect Machado to record 7 homers, 20 RBI, 3 steals, and 18 runs scored over the rest of the season.
