Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Jameson Taillon underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery on Tuesday.
The Pirates were hoping to avoid the procedure but after all other treatment options failed, the surgery was needed. Unfortunately, this means Taillon is likley out all of 2020 as well with Tommy John recovery taking at least 12 months.
The 27-year-old slumped in 2019 with a 4.10 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 30 strikeouts in 37 1/3 innings pitched.
