Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas making MLB debut Monday
The Arizona Diamondbacks promoted infielder/outfielder Josh Rojas from Triple-A Reno.
Rojas was one of four players acquired from the Houston Astros in the Zack Greinke trade on July 31. The 25-year-old took a huge leap forward in the minors this year and is capable of playing all over the field. He's starting in left field and batting sixth in his MLB debut on Monday versus right-hander Peter Lambert and the Colorado Rockies. Tim Locastro is available off the bench. The Diamondbacks designated Blake Swihart for assignment in a corresponding roster move.
Rojas hit .332/.418/.606 with 23 home runs, 33 doubles, 83 RBI, 33 steals, and 89 runs scored in 105 games between the Double-A and Triple-A levels this season.
