Juan Soto day-to-day for Nationals with ankle injury

Washington Nationals left fielder Juan Soto (ankle) is not starting in Monday's series opener versus right-hander Anthony DeSclafani and the Cincinnati Reds.

What It Means:

Soto is considered day-to-day with a mild right ankle sprain he suffered on Sunday. Gerardo Parra is covering left field in Monday's opener while Matt Adams is in the cleanup spot. Victor Robles is starting in center field and batting eighth.

Soto is slashing .288/.402/.540 with 24 homers, 77 RBI, and 10 steals in 470 plate appearances (107 games) this season.
