Cubs sign catcher Jonathan Lucroy
The Chicago Cubs have signed former Los Angeles Angels catcher Jonathan Lucroy.
Lucroy was released by the Angels and is expected to join the Cubs on Thursday. Taylor Davis will head back to Triple-A to make room on the roster. Lucroy will back up Victor Caratini behind the plate with Willson Contreras out for the next few weeks.
Lucroy has batted .242 with 7 homers and 30 RBI in 268 plate appearances with the Angels this season.
