Cesar Puello put on Marlins' IL with hip strain
The Miami Marlins placed outfielder Cesar Puello on the 10-day injured list with a left hip flexor strain.
Puello was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to discomfort in his hip, which was later determined to be a flexor strain. He could be back before the end of the month. Lewis Brinson was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans in a corresponding roster move and figures to see regular playing time in center field while Puello is out.
Puello has hit just .179 with a .519 OPS in 32 games for the Marlins this season.
