Reds' Amir Garrett gets 8 games for brawl with Pirates
Cincinnati Reds reliever Amir Garrett has been suspended 8 games for his role in Tuesday's benches-clearing brawl with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Garrett charged at the Pirates' dugout with a flying punch and essentially tried to fight the entire team. He is appealing and will remain available while it is heard.
Garrett has posted a career-best 2.21 ERA with 60 strikeouts and 22 walks over 40 2/3 innings (47 games) as a setup man this season.
